How to get a driving licence in Vilnius
Getting a driving licence is a multi-step process: learning the theory, practical driving lessons, and passing two exams (theory and practical) at Regitra. Autoteisės helps you move smoothly through every stage.
From registering at a driving school to holding your licence, it usually takes 2–4 months, depending on the category chosen and how intensively you study.
Sign up for a courseStep one — registering for the course
When registering at a driving school, you choose a category (usually B), provide a health certificate, and arrange your theory lesson schedule.
Theory lessons and exam
The theory course covers road signs, traffic rules, and the basics of safe driving. After finishing the course, an internal test is taken, followed later by the official theory exam at Regitra.
Practical lessons and the driving exam
Practical lessons take place with an instructor in real traffic conditions. Once the instructor confirms you are ready, you register for the practical driving exam at Regitra.
